The BE 3205 MKII modification is a true modification of the circuit, rather than simply a parts upgrade, that has already stood the test of time. This modification is quite possibly the best upgrade that can be done to the Jolida 302/502 amplifiers transforming it into a unique unit unlike any Jolida amplifier out there and will compete with other tube amplifiers costing several times the cost of your investment.

Please note that the SoniCap Platinum used in the original 3205 amplifiers is no longer in production. From this point forward, The top of the line Clarity Cap MR Series capacitors will be used in all 3205 modifications.


 The new Bella EXtreme 3205 MKII modification utilizes a Modified Mu CCS (Constant Current Source) input stage that has been optimized for the 12AU7 tube. What this brings to the table is even lower distortion and a more linear response. Keep in mind that you can no longer use any of the other *12 series* tubes (12AX7, 12AT7, etc) as this circuit was designed exclusively for the 12AU7 and the other tubes cannot handle the current that the AU7 can be run at.

The output stage can run a variety of tubes including the EL34, KT77, 6550, KT88 and KT90 without any circuit modification.

The power supply is redone using more capacitance in the various filter banks resulting in a much better sense of dynamic control and authority. High quality Panasonic low ESR capacitors are used just as was used in our BE 3205 MKII.

 The Bella Extreme 3205 MKII (as shown in picture above) was a top seller during it's time of being in production. This product was based on the original Jolida SJ302A or SJ502A series amplifiers. Now all you need to do to have your own Bella Extreme 3205 MKII amplifier is send us your own Jolida amplifier for the 3205 MKII upgrade.

We can perform this upgrade on any Jolida 302A/502A series amplifiers as well as any non remote 302/502 "B" Series amplifier. We offer to you both the versatility of a maintaining the full features of an integrated unit as well as converting it to a dedicated power amp to be used with an outboard active preamp to bring out the full potential the 3205 MKII has to offer.

Considerations:

If you are having your unit modified as a straight power amplifier, the finished unit will require a new faceplate. This can be either a solid hardwood unit or a transparent dark gray (nearly black) acrylic face.

On integrated units, the balance control is removed from the circuit. On original "A" Series units as well as early "B" Series units, the cheap volume control is thrown in the trash and replaced with a higher quality Alps Blue or Noble volume control.

Output Tubes are NOT included with the modification. Please be sure to pick up a decent set of tubes of your choice. For a list of recommend vacuum tubes, please check out our "Recommended Tubes" page.

We do include a pair of 12AU7 tubes for the input stage but again, we recommend looking at our recommendations page for some exceptional options.

  • Mills non-inductive resistors used at the cathode locations.

  • Dale 3 watt 1% resistors used in the bias stage.

  • High quality 22 gauge copper wire used for the input signal.

  • Side mounted power switch for a clean look.
