General recommendations for speaker sensitivity are as follows:

3 watts or less - 93dB minimum sensitivity / 95dB+ recommended

8 watts - 90dB minimum sensitivity / 93dB+ recommended

15 watts - 88dB minimum sensitivity / 90dB+ recommended

25 watts - 86dB minimum sensitivity / 88dB+ recommended

Please note that the dB+ recommended sensitivity is for those looking for the most dynamic control potential from their low powered, SET amplifier.

A 3 watt SET amplifier will actually drive speakers of 88 dB at low listening levels but that's about it. For dynamic control and good low level resolution, the minimum sensitivity as mentioned above should be followed.
