Woodpecker -
simply enjoy
The Idea
...was built out of customers' inquiries. Most
peoples' association of a turntable is a wooden box,
platter and tonearm - that's it. And here we go:
Have a look at our interpretation of such a design.
The mission
...was not simple. From the scratch it was obvious
that our MARC design will not adapt to a
"conventional" chassis in an easy way. So we were
looking for new ways to design as close to the
bigger models as possible and get similar results.
After a lot of refinement we are proud to present
the final product.
The result
...is comparable to what you already know from our
bigger models - timeless elegance paired with best
measurements. Using our well-proven bearing design,
platter and high torque motor, we achieved the same
virtues of Twin and Triple. The motor electronics
was adapted to match the design in a perfect way.
The sound
...will leave you stunning - no matter which tonearm
you are planning to use (the sliding-base allows you
to mount nearly all available tonearms from 9 up to
12 inches). Relax, listen to pure music and forget
about the technology behind.

Blackbird -
explore the music
The Idea
... was obvious. The design of the smaller
brother has a special appeal to build a
turntable a little bigger in size. There are
lots of vinyl lovers who wish to run two
tonearms on one deck - here we go! We did not
only make a simple upscale but set a new course
in terms of ease of use.
The mission
... was to enhance the technical base of the
Woodpecker to push forward the sound quality.
Running two tonearms was a requirement but we
also implemented some new ideas on the drive. We
refined the controller software to drive two
motors simultaneously in a kind of master-slave
configuration.
Putting
the two motors in a 180° position around the
bearing cancels out all reactive forces that
could cause gyration of the platter. As a free
add-on we achieve a better randomization of wow
& flutter less disturbing the hearing process
and lower bearing rumble at the same time.
The result
... is an enhanced sovereignty in sound -
excellent measurements and a timeless elegance
combined with absolute ease of use. As a world‘s
first we have integrated a dedicated Protractor
that is blindingly simple in use. You will be
amazed how easy setup of your cartridge can be.
The sound
... sovereign, dynamic, powerful and neutral at
the same time. No matter which tonearm you are
planning to use. Relax and take a trip into the
fascination of music knowing that not
even the smallest detail on the black gold is
being kept back.
Forget about technical details, enjoy
the music in all its grace!

PROTRACTOR
Dear customer, first
of all let us thank you for your confidence in our
products. The Protractor you hold in your hands is a
precision device that enables you to adjust
cartridges and tonearms with an effective length
from 8,6 up to 17,7 inches for correct overhang and
offest.
The calculation of parameters were carefully carried
out according Lofgren’s (frontside) and Baerwald’s
(backside) equations aiming in reduction of the
overall RMS distortion level caused by deviations
from the perfect linear tracking position of your
cartridge. Please read this manual carefully to have
full benefit from this unique tool. In terms of
perfect azimuth calibration we reffer to our
innovative software ADJUST+ (www.adjust-plus.com).
A little bit of theory
The general geometrical correlation of a tracking
device based on a fixed pivot point are well known
since the fundamental publications of Baerwald and
Lofgren back in the first half of the 20th century.
The conclusion of both papers was that such a
tracking device must have an angular offset with a
defined overhang. The offset and the overhang vary
with the effective length of the tonearm itself.
While tracking the record the stylus matches
tangential position in the groove in two points –
the inner and outer Null points (linear tracking
position).
But what does this mean?
