With the
growing popularity and glowing consumer feedback of the EXtreme Hurricane
modifications, we realize there are those looking
for the same high quality product but without the need for 200 watts of
tube power. Sonically, the Extreme Monsoon 100 mono blocs will provide you
with the same sonic presentation as the 200 watt versions. The Monsoon 100's are providing you with 100 watts of glorious KT88 tube power
which will drive most loudspeakers with grace and ease.
Our
attention to detail within
the EXtreme modifications is every bit as detailed and thorough as their
200 watt big brothers. You will find no sonic differences between these
two units in regard to the performed workmanship. When matched with the right speakers,
these amplifiers become and exceptional choice for
those in need of a bit less power.
Shown at left is a pair
of EXtreme 100s amplifiers in one of our test rigs. This is
where all amplifiers are system tested for a minimum of 12 hours before
being shipped to their new owners. This system changes regularly and
usually consist of the Manley Labs SHRIMP and ModWright SWL 9.0SE preamp
along with a Level 2 Custom Jolida. The table shown is an Acoustic Solid
Transparent with a Clearaudio Virtuoso Wood cartridge receiving gain from
a Jolida JD9 phono stage. The components are resting on a Sistrum Platform
featuring Micro Bearing Steel fill and of course a host of Star Sound's
very own Audio Points. Speakers currently are our Musica Bella SP/AV-1 and
Acoustic Zen Adagio!! We invite you to stop in for a listen.
