The base units used in these amplifiers are brand new units, not rebuilt or "B" stock.

Through a special contract with Jolida Inc. we bring to you an exclusive, exceptional integrated tube amplifier at a very real world price. These original "A" Series custom modified amplifiers are available nowhere else in the world except here at Response Audio

These units are released on a limited basis with a maximum of 8 pieces available each month. We will not produce more than 8 amplifiers per month. Place your order early to assure timely delivery.

Below is a list of the upgrades performed on these units before releasing them to you for your listening pleasure with a continued list of further options available at the bottom of this page. Please note that there is the possibility of cosmetic blemishes in the paint service of some pieces.

Shown at left is the Signature 3205 set up with 6550 output tubes for 60 watts per channel. The new Signature as well as the Reference Series now utilize an upgraded power supply using higher capacitance, high quality capacitors with a lower ESR (resistance). The low end performance of these amps is now much better than any of our previous models!!! Better headroom, dynamic control and authority.

The Response Audio "Signature 3205" amplifiers have become know nation wide for their exceptional value and versatility offering the audio consumer a highly modified, very musical part of the audio chain, custom built to meet your personal listening preferences. To get the same performance from other products would mean spending up to three times their price.

The first thing we do when bringing in these amplifiers is gut everything out of the chassis and then rebuild them from the ground up. Every internal component of these units has been upgraded with what we believe to be the best combination of audiophile passive components. From the Dale/Vishay resistors, Fairchild Ultra Fast - Soft Recovery diodes, Audience Auricap or SoniCap capacitors to the new power supply filter capacitors, volume control pot, source selector and internal wiring, nothing has been left unattended. We even completely rebuild the power supply. We do not just change a few parts in these amplifiers. We actually gut the units to a point where the only thing remaining on or in the chassis is the transformers which are already of exceptional quality. From there we completely rebuild each individual amp one piece at a time using the components listed below. There has always been concerns about the quality control of the early Jolida 302/502A amplifiers and we can assure you this is no longer an issue with the 3205 products.

Response Audio now has over four hundred of these products playing nicely in consumer's systems. To this date, we have seen less than 3 pieces in for any type of warranty work which is less than 1%. These are numbers we can live with.

A few quick notes:

The Signal Path:
Found within the signal path are over 20 pieces of Dale/Vishay 1 watt metal film resistors. These units were chosen for their quiet and revealing characteristics. We have also chosen 1 watt units over the 1/2 watt pieces due to maximum voltages and also due to the fact that using a larger physical size and wattage yields a quieter presentation. For the grid stop resistors we now use only the highly regarded Japanese Riken Ohm carbon film resistors in our Reference version. The coupling capacitors used in the Signature 3205 are the truly superior Audience AuriCap pieces. 

The Power Supply:
In the Signature 3205, you will find a  high performance power supply  upgrade.  The improvement from this upgrade is not subtle!  This upgrade includes the latest technology and high-grade parts yielding a faster, more dynamic bass response as well as a quieter background and lower noise floor.  The filtering (storage) capacity in two of the three stages is increased  beyond original specifications offering more dynamic control.  Also installed are  large Sonicap bypass capacitors.  We also install 4 high wattage, non-inductive cushion/emitter resistors at the cathode of the output tubes. Besides the audible improvements, the components used within the power supply offer longer life over the original pieces that have been removed.  State-of-the-art Fairchild rectifier diodes are also utilized for the B+ voltage.  

The Controls:
I have found the Noble volume control to offer everything  I was looking for in the Signature 3205. Over the past several years of offering these products, the Noble has also proven to be exceptionally reliable with not a single piece going bad or becoming noisy. This decision was a no-brainer. Also used is a high quality Grayhill source selector that has also proven to be sonically superior to any unit used in stock audio components as well as very reliable. Hooking these pieces together you will find our special 22 awg copper wiring that was actually discovered accidentally.  To my knowledge, there is only one other company in the country that has found and uses this wire within their designs. Also available is a highly regarded 24 awg solid silver with Teflon dielectric.

The Design:
The Signature 3205 is based on the circuitry of the Jolida 302/502 amplifier providing 50-60 watts depending on which tubes are used. This products utilizes an Class AB ultra-linear push-pull configuration. When properly implemented, this circuit design can provide exceptional balance of sonic accuracy and musicality.

As a Power Amplifier
The feedback now is starting to confirm that ordering your custom 3205 as a straight power amplifier to be used with a high quality active preamp yields even better results. A good active preamp will provide a higher level of transparency, resolution, texture and detail. We are now selling approximately 40% of all Signature 3205s as power amps with the numbers climbing. Also a good setup when using with the Jolida JD50 remote volume passive preamp.

At this time, all Signature Series amps are built upon ordering and take approximately 10 days to complete in most situations. This time will depend on current work load and number of orders. 

The Signature Series amps are available only as a limited number of units being produced each month.

There will be a 15%  fee on any cancelled orders and/or returned units.
