It has come to our attention that there are now a few copy-cat modifiers out there offering some type of upgrade for the ASL SET (and other ASL) amplifiers. Please don't mistake our modification for just another parts swap. As you look through what we offer and the additional work incorporated into these products, you will see that no one even comes close to our level of work, attention to detail or thoroughness.

Response Audio was the very first to bring to the world the EXtreme and Reference modifications for the Antique Sound Labs products.

Below you will find a few highly modified Antique Sound Labs single ended triode (SET) amplifiers. One power amplifier and two integrated units. The heart and soul of these units is the VH Audio V-Cap or SoniCap Platinum Reference Grade Teflon capacitors used throughout the circuitry. Add to these the use of high quality, well regarded Riken Ohm Carbon Film resistors, Solid Silver 24 awg internal wiring as well as many other high grade internal components and you now have a component that is an exceptional performer and value!

 These amplifiers are designed to satisfy the most discriminating SET enthusiast offering many years of musical nirvana.

It doesn't matter if you have a pair of $399 bookshelf speakers or a $20k  speaker setup, our Reference SET units will provide you with the ultimate in single ended power.

During the modification process, we also go through the entire unit checking and re-soldering all solder joints and check all transformers cover hardware.

The Reference Series Tulip amplifier is a perfect choice for those who own very high efficiency speakers, especially horn designs. Minimum recommended efficiency on speakers is 93 dB but better suited for speakers rated at 95 dB and higher. Match this amplifier with one of our Reference Ming-Da preamps and you will have a highly revealing SET system that will impress even the most discriminating listeners.

NEWS: We can now utilize the VH Audio OIMP (oil impregnated metalized polypropylene) capacitors for applications requiring the 1.0uF coupling capacitors as mentioned below. The .47uF-1.0uF can now utilize the Teflon units.

Please be advised that there are options on the value of the coupling capacitors used. These options would be determined by the speakers you will be running with this amp.

 For those who are running smaller single driver, full range speakers, the higher value, .68uF-1.0uF, is recommended for a fuller low end presentation. In this case, this value is obtained by by a choice of either the  V-Cap Teflon or V-Cap OIMP. Please call for pricing.
